  1.  PRN RN Job Description 

 

We are seeking PRN RN’s who take pride in providing compassionate care to clients and customers while enjoying a flexible work schedule!

Primary Functions: Under the direction and reporting to the RN Case Manager, the PRN RN ensures effective patient care while managing the Personal Care Workers (PCW). In addition to providing clinical knowledge, the PRN RN must use interpersonal skills to answer questions from clients, families, and employees to resolve issues involving nursing care. 

Education and Work Experience:  Graduate of nursing program. At least 2-3 years of related experience; meets state and federal requirements. Has required state certificates, licenses, and registrations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participates in administering company policies, directing and coordinating the nursing department activities to develop and implement long-range goals and objectives to meet business and growth objectives. 
  • Proactively train new PCWs about processes, procedures and administrative functions as well as identify developmental opportunities. 
  • Promote proper maintenance of patient records and ensures nursing staff adheres to governmental requirements. 
  • Implements best practices to improve efficiency of health care delivery and communication with heads of different departments. 
  • Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
  • Maintains nursing staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.
  • Maintains documentation of patient care services by auditing patient and departments records.

Knowledge/Special Skills/Abilities:

  • Effective oral and written communications and presentation skills are essential, as are interpersonal skills. 
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and HIPPA regulations.  
  • The ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues is required. 
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment is required. 
  • The ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports and to plan, coordinate and administer complex administrative systems and processes is necessary.   
  • PC Skills to include MS Office software, such as Excel and Word, and Electronic Health Records. 
  • The ability to work with frequent, established deadlines is required. 
  • The ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals is required. 
  • Employee development and performance management skills are essential. 
  • The ability to multi-task and work under pressure. 
  • Must have Valid Driver’s License
